1. Snakes in the Garden: Remember the mole story? It was posted in the 5 Steps Newsletter #10. Short story is they came into Uriah’s garden and we had a deep discussion of their purpose in Creation. From there, we decided to partner up with them and learn. A couple days after, Uriah was digging out a spot to plant in and left to get the seeds. Upon returning, a gopher poked its head right up through his hole and looked at him. He really questioned this idea to partner up, but I encouraged him to keep going. He left it, planted where he had planned and all was well. Yesterday, Uriah told me: “Guess what I saw in the garden… A snake!” I smiled, “A gopher snake?!” He smiles “YES!” I quickly said “You didn’t kill it, right?!” He didn’t. It was a concern that the gophers, while doing their job, would do it a little too well and take all of our garden. But, with the help of the snakes, coyotes, foxes and owls, the gophers should stay well within their limit of helping and not hindering. Partnering up with creation is SO cool! It’s almost like it was supposed to be this way… 😉
2. Waiting for the Best: Last week, I was pretty frustrated at the lack of freedoms we really have and the difficulty of getting a natural equine dentist to work on my horses. Shortly after, I was connected with someone close by (in relation to the east coast!) who is the kindest, most gentle hearted equine dentist I had spoken to. This person’s philosophy was the closest aligned to mine out of any one AND could get here faster than anyone I had previously tried to get in. I feel so much peace and am so grateful that Yah closed so many doors before. I should have known He was working the process, and on and off I did realize He would provide, but if only I could remain steadfast in that and unwilling to compromise on truths. Vital lesson for me to learn again and with a sweet, sweet reward.
3. Student of Technique or Horse?
“If you are just a student of the technique, you will only go so far. It you are a student of the horse, it’s endless.” -Mark Rashid
This quote was on a new site I came across in search of the equine dentist. It is called “Out-West Saddlery”. I had the pleasure of talking with Terri for quite awhile and it was clear that she took this quote to heart. We had so much in common with so many overlapping’s because we held the common thread of being “students of the horse.” In my case, I am growing to say, “Student of Yah and His Creation” so this will overflow in all areas of my life. If you are a horse person, I recommend checking out their saddle philosophy page. It’s rare but so important.
4. Time to read: I was recommended by a good friend the book “Mind Change” by Heather McKean. Wow, what a read. I flew through it even though it seems like I don’t have time to read most of the time (funny how that works.) I didn’t do a good job of marking the “aha” lines in the book, but I remember they are in there. The take-away from it for now though, is further evidence that our “dis-eases” and “sicknesses are truly a portrayal of our inside. That our bodies are for us, not against us, and they most definitely possess every ability to heal and bring restoration. Why don’t we see this in the general public or church even? 1) We lack the understanding of Creation and our Creator 2) Our bodies are in it for whole healing. Not just surface healing. Our body isn’t interested in eliminating our autoimmune diseases if it means that it will leave our soul in havoc. Instead, it will increase the intensity until we recognize the parts of our spirit and soul in distress. Learning to listen to our body, dig, be curious, change our mind and ways to love ourselves and bodies and creation and fulfill our created purpose, will bring healing quickly and in its fullest. There is a second book by Heather that connects these concepts to Scripture. It’s on the way to me, and I’m looking forward to an even deeper dive of this understanding. PS If you aren’t a reader, she also has an excellent podcast you can find here.
5. Hope Ahead: As I think about the timeline of competition quickly approaching, I feel more prepared than ever despite the fact that I haven’t been riding much the past few weeks. I’ve been doing soul work instead. Like one of my first blogs points titled: “Slow start…. Fast finish” this is a slow start to their body conditioning, but I know once I’m on track, that their conditioning will come faster and better than I ever imagined possible. This is all part of the vision. Not quite how I imagined it, but so much more and so much greater. There are people all around me that share the vision and insatiable desire for truth. As the enemies of truth grow greater, the ones pursuing it wholeheartedly will only rise above that much further as our enemies become our footstools. Will you join us?
